Pass-Out Reloaded

PASS-OUT Bootleg Re-loaded is an unauthorized spinoff based on Frank Bresee’s best selling adult drinking game originally produced in the early 1960’s. The subtle changes and revisions I've made to the game were in my opinion, long overdue. The most notable change for those familiar with PASS-OUT was the addition of two players to make it a six player game. There are also a few extra Pink Elephant and PASS-OUT cards. Some content has been slightly revised to reflect today's world.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PLAY

PASS-OUT may be played by 2 - 6 players. Each player begins the game with a drink of their choice. (Not intended for use with Alcoholic Beverages)

To begin, each player rolls both dice, with highest roll going first. (ties roll again until a winner is determined) The first player selects one game pawn (marker) and places it on the “START HERE” square.

The first player begins by throwing the dice and moving the number of squares indicated by the roll. The player must then do what is indicated by the square on which they land. (i.e. roll a 6 and land on “Take A Drink”, the player must take a drink of their beverage. If the player lands on “Blue Take A Drink” the player using the blue pawn must take a drink, etc.)

ABOUT “DRINKS”

A drink does not mean a full glass or measured amount. A DRINK in the PASS-OUT game is any amount the player wants to take. It can be a sip, a swig or a big drink. However players cannot skip a drink during the game (unless they have a “Skip A Drink” card.)

Instructions continued ...

Moving clockwise, the next player rolls and follows the same procedure as the first. Move the number of squares indicated by the roll and do what is on the square you land on. This continues until all players have moved and the process repeats.

GO TO BAR

If a player lands on the “Go To Bar” square they must move diagonally across the board, directly to the “Bar”. Player does not collect a “PINK ELEPHANT” card.

If a player draws a PASS-OUT card that says “Go To Bar,” they travel around the board to the “Bar”. If they pass the “START HERE” square they can take a “PINK ELEPHANT” card.

Player may leave the bar on their next turn, if they have a “Get Out Of Bar Free” card or by finishing their current drink.

If the player chooses to throw the dice, they must throw a 7 or 11 to get out of the “Bar”. If the player in the “Bar” does not throw a 7 or 11 on their first, second or third turn, they must leave the “Bar” on their third turn by taking the number of drinks on the third roll and move the number of squares indicated by the roll of the dice.

While the player is in the “Bar” they must continue to play the game, (i.e. they must take a drink when another player lands on “All Drink,” or when another player lands on a square the same color as his marker)

NO SMOKING OR VAPING ANYTHING ... UNLESS

During the game players may not smoke unless they land on a “Light Up” square, or unless another player draws an “All Light Up” card. (obviously a player landing on a “Light Up” square is under no obligation and may decline to smoke)

If a player “lights up” (includes vaping or any similar action with anything) without landing on a “Light Up” square or drawing a “Light Up” card, they pay a penalty of 7 drinks.

HOW TO WIN - “PINK ELEPHANT” CARDS

The object of the game is to collect “PINK ELEPHANT” cards. The first person to collect 7 (or other predetermined number) “PINK ELEPHANT” cards is declared the winner.

As each player makes a complete revolution around the board and passes the “START HERE” square, they may take a “PINK ELEPHANT” card.

As the player collects their “PINK ELEPHANT” card, they must read aloud the tongue twister printed on it. If the player makes a mistake while reading the card, they must take a drink and try again. Each subsequent time the player errs in reading the card, they must take an additional drink. If the player, after 5 attempts, cannot read the card correctly, they nevertheless retain the “PINK ELEPHANT” card and the game continues. Players who read the “PINK ELEPHANT” card correctly on the first or subsequent tries, of course retain the card.

The game may also be played on a time basis. The player with the most “PINK ELEPHANT” cards at the end of the specified time is the winner.

PASS-OUT CARDS

When a player lands on a “PASS-OUT” square, they must take a card and do what is indicated on the card. If a player draws a “Skip A Drink” card, they must skip their next drink. When a “PASS-OUT” card is drawn and used, it must be returned to the bottom of the “PASS-OUT” card deck. (If a player draws a “Get Out Of Bar Free” card, they may keep the card until they choose to use it.)

DRINKS - a reminder ...

A drink does not mean a full glass or measured amount. A DRINK in the PASS-OUT game is any amount the player wants to take. It can be a sip, a swig or a big drink. However players cannot skip a drink during the game (unless they have a “Skip A Drink” card.)

Also remember, this game is not intended for use with alcoholic beverages.

MORE THAN 6 PLAYERS

If more than 6 players want to join the game, extra players may choose a partner (i.e. Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Black or White marker) and play the game based on the actions of that marker, taking the number of drinks, following PASS-OUT card instructions etc. However extra players must choose a marker before the game begins and cannot change to any other partner during the game.

REMEMBER ...

If for some strange reason alcoholic beverages do inadvertently find their way into the playing of this game, Please, don't drink and drive!
